If you have the SumUp App on your phone you can still sell your products and services even without your SumUp device present! Handy to know in case of a breakage, happens to the best of us.
To do this just go into your SumUp App and add items (SumUp term for products/services). Once you have them listed you simply tap on ‘checkout’ and tap on the item you wish to sell, then tap charge, and either use your card reader. If your card reader is broken or not available, tap payment links and choose which option. You can share the payment link via QR code, SMS, Email. The payment link will be sent immediately, then your customer can pay you immediately.
If it’s an emergency and you have no SumUp device you can still take payments using the method above.
Up to 500 transactions can be made whilst you are onboarding with SumUp. Though it is advisable to not delay onboarding as it may delay the ability to access your funds straight away.
For those worried about the onboarding process. Like any financial institution it is normal that you would be asked to provide business ID, business bank account details, and on some occasions personal ID.
